The Importance Of Reading God's Word!
Submitted by: David Andrew Moore
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." John 5:24 (KJV)
Jesus, promises us that if we hear His Word and believe on the Father, who sent Him, we have everlasting life. He promises that if you hear His Word and believe on the Father, you will not enter condemnation. His Word, is where? How can we hear His Word? We must read our bibles. The Word of God, is living and able to give us life and hope. I can't begin to tell any of you, that don't read your bibles what you're missing out on.
"Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye [are] the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast [them] into the fire, and they are burned. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you." John 15:4-7 (KJV)
If you don't abide in Jesus, you will not bear fruit and if you bear no fruit, you'll be thrown into the fire. Without Jesus and His Word, you can do nothing! If you abide in Him and His Word, you can ask what you will and He'll do it!
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." John 1:1 (KJV)
This scripture shows us that, if you neglect the bible, you're neglecting God. If God, is the Word we need to spend time in the Word. How can we have God, in us if we don't have the Word, in us? There are too many that don't realize the importance, of reading God's Word. I read the Word daily and I've reaped so many benefits for it. I've grown tremendously and it's not easy for others to deceive me.
"TAU. Let my cry come near before thee, O LORD: give me understanding according to thy word. Let my supplication come before thee: deliver me according to thy word. My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes. My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments [are] righteousness. Let thine hand help me; for I have chosen thy precepts. I have longed for thy salvation, O LORD; and thy law [is] my delight. Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgments help me. I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek thy servant; for I do not forget thy commandments." Psalm 119:69-76 (KJV)
Look at how much this person, speaks of God's Word. This person delights in the law of God, that we can find in the bible. He speaks the Word of God, because all of God's commandments are righteous. He doesn't want to forget God's commandments, this is how we should be. The only way not to forget His commandments, is to stay in His Word, daily. Without His Word, we can't even know His commandments and if we don't know we're not going to bear fruit. If we don't bear fruit, we will be thrown off the vine and into the fire.
"I wait for the LORD, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope." Psalm 130:5 (KJV)
Feeling hopeless? There's hope in God's Word, get in His Word and find hope. You can't have peace, hope, prosperity and victory without His Word.
My point with this study, is to show you that we need God's Word. Without reading the bible, we're lost souls and we're in danger of being deceived. This is one thing I love to push, because if I get just one of you to read the bible, it'll change your life! If you don't have a bible and can't afford one go here. You'll get the best deal there and you'll help support our ministry too!
I hope this really encourages you and with the information above, you have no excuse not to read the bible! Don't have time? Make time, because if you don't want to spend time with God, now why would He want to spend eternity with you?
