God's Love
Submitted by: David Andrew Moore
"The Lord did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all people." Deuteronomy 7:7 (KJV)
Don't think the Lord, chose you because you're some mighty powerful person. He chose you, because you're lowly and will humble yourself.
"And He will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee: He will also bless the fruit of thy womb, and the fruit of thy land, thy corn, and thy wine, and thine oil, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep, in the land which He sware unto thy fathers to give thee." Deuteronomy 7:13 (KJV)
These things mentioned here, were things he did for the ones he loved back then. In the old days, these were the things people desired. God, will still bless us with the things of our time. Because he loves us, he will not hold good things from us. God, wants us to enjoy life, but not in a sinful manner. He will give us good things, not bad things that will destroy us. So, if you don't get something you want, it wasn't meant to be or you weren't ready for that thing.
"Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee." Deuteronomy 23:5 (KJV)
God's love for his people is so great, he'll turn a curse against his people into a blessing for his people! How great is that?
"Blessed be the Lord thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, to be king for the Lord thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice." 2 Chronicles 9:8 (KJV)
At this time the only ones that God, had chosen were the Israelites. Because Jesus, hadn't come yet to break that barrier. But God, set a king over his people, because he loved them. He set the king over them to execute judgment and to keep the people in line.
"For whom the Lord loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth." Proverbs 3:12 (KJV)
The Lord, will correct us not to be mean, but because he loves us. He wants the best for us and if we have our way all the time, we won't have the best. So when God, corrects you don't take it wrong he loves you, it's a good thing!
"I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me." Proverbs 8:17 (KJV)
Do you love God? If so, the feeling is mutual he loves you too! If you seek him early, you'll find him. Got a problem? Don't wait take it to God, right away. No problem too big or too small for our God!
"But now thus saith the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour: I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee. Since thou wast precious in my sight, thou hast been honourable, and I have loved thee: therefore will I give men for thee, and people for thy life" Isaiah 43:1-4 (KJV)
Does love get any better than this? Not only does this go for Jacob, but for us. God, loves us so much he gave his own son. He let his son be tortured, upon that cross and for what? For you and me! If that's not love, what is?
"The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3 (KJV)
An everlasting love, what's that? That means his love, never runs out. He doesn't get tired of us and he will never stop loving us! Never! Not today, tomorrow or ever!
"I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him." Hosea 14:4 (KJV)
His love isn't limited. If you've backslidden, don't hesitate to come back to him, he still loves you. Don't let anyone tell you, that he doesn't love you anymore!
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16 (KJV)
This is amazing, he loves us so much he gave his son. Could you imagine that? Could you let your son, die on a cross for the sins of this world? Man, be glad I'm not God, I couldn't have. God, loves us that much!
"The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand." John 3:35 (KJV)
He loves his son, Jesus. Jesus, is so precious to God. God, loves Jesus, so much he let him rule over everything. Yet he let Jesus, get tortured and die for our sins, does that give you an idea of how much he loves you? Of course not! His love is so great, we can't even begin to imagine!
"A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." John 13:34 (KJV)
Jesus, loves us and his father loves us, why can't we love others like the Lord, has loved us? If we can't do that much, for someone who loves us so much, that's pretty bad. But if you have a problem with loving others, don't worry. Say a prayer, ask for forgiveness and ask the Lord, to give you the love to love others. He has so much of it, he'll give you some to share with others!
"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him." John 14:21 (KJV)
You have his commandments, right in his word. Read your bible daily and keep his commandments, love Jesus and his Father will love you!
"And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world." 1 John 5:16-17 (KJV)
God, is love and without him there is no love. If God, doesn't live in you, you don't have love. I can say that because, God is love and there is no true love, but that love of God. There is a substitute of love, that's called "Lust." Without God, all we can do is lust and think we love. But we don't know true love until God, is living in us. If you live in love God, lives in you and you in him. If you're married, I've heard stories of other people, who were married and didn't know God. Once you invite him in your marriage, it will get better if you both submit to God. Why is that? It's that love he puts in you, that makes it better. He'll give you the love to love your spouse and your neighbors. Once you truly have God, in your life you'll have love. To me love, is better than anything especially the love of God. To be loved by God, is better than money, sex, things of the world and anything you can think of. His love is greater than anything. Without love, you will not be able to stand before the Lord, in judgment! He will cast you away and why? Because he is love, he doesn't know darkness and wants nothing to do with it. If you don't love you're still living in darkness and sin. Love, is the key to everything important in our Christian walk. What's one of the most important things? Forgiveness is and if we don't love we can't be forgiven. Jesus, once said something like this, "Because she had a lot of love, all of her many sins, were forgiven. The ones who love little, the same have little forgiveness." So what if you have no love? That means you have no forgiveness! I think it's time to love, so God, can dwell in us!
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?" Romans 8:35 (KJV)
"For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39 (KJV)
Nothing can separate us, from the love of God, that's in Christ Jesus! There are many other scriptures of God's love these are just some. I wanted to share these and since there were so many, I was unable to write much on each one. Come back here daily for devotionals and I hope you enjoy this new site! Expect it to only get better! So many out there only preaching God's wrath, but we're going to preach his love, wrath and everything about him here! Also, as you see I use a King James Version bible. If you use a different version you may want to compare the scriptures with your bible, when you read my studies.
Your brother in Christ, David.
God bless, hope you'll come back!
(Thanks, to my friend, Lori, for putting together these scriptures.)
