Back to Basics

Bible Version: King James

It's quiet and my spirit is journeying in a word that has formed itself thru a simple question. If you had asked me I would have been able to tell you and you would have not had that fear, doubt, confusion. Just like listening I think asking and not presuming or assuming has become a lost art. Yet as much as this has baffled me in the natural I found myself wondering if it is not also true of the Father...If many times he observes the steps of our daily lives and says if you had asked me. Then there is the other side of that...what are we asking and why. With that I went to the word to read what he had to say on it...leaving it pretty simple and basic here are some verses that speak volumes in simply reading and contemplating what the spirit would say to the church. He that hath an ear LET him hear what the spirit is saying. Amen...And in the hearing may it be peace grace mercy and Love that is extended: knowing that if we ask according to his word we will receive....all he has intended for us.

Matt. 7:7 Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Matt. 7:8-11 For everyone that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Matt .21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive.

Mark 11:24-26 Therefore I say unto you, What things so ever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

James 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

1John 5:13-14 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

James 1:1-5 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
This last year I have had to get real with what I ask of the Father....then I had to get just as honest with am I asking according to my empty vain imagination or according to his word. And finally I had to see that in the asking if... he would do it for another why would he not hear me. Which has brought me to realize it’s not so much about the answer as I perceive it but all about seeing... he is working out his answer in me if I will simply receive.
