Make a Joyful Noise Unto God!

Friday's Devotion (6-27-08)

"Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious." Psalms 66:1-2 (KJV)

Site note: In a rather exciting note, we've found a way to get rid of all that horrible spam mail... Now, I can better handle prayer requests and other submissions. So, bring it on! We could use some more Bible study submissions. So, if you have them then please share them with us and our readers.

I believe that one reason a lot of us believers/Christians are depressed is because we aren't "making a joyful noise unto God..." We aren't singing praise and giving praise and thanks to the Lord. Sure we listen to positive Christian music, but we aren't singing praises and we aren't giving praise and thanks to God ourselves. Next time we listen to the music, don't be afraid to sing along. That's the easiest way to sing praise along with the praise music we listen to. It sets the mood (the music that is.)

The other thing is to give thanks. We have to always have the thought in our heart that there are things to be thankful for and then thank God for those things! I myself can't wait for something that's coming up (Lori knows what I'm talking about...) I for one instead of being impatient as I have been will start thanking God in advance for it. That's one thing we need to do too, thank God in advance when we're believing for something. And thank the Lord for just hearing our prayers. God cares about us and that's enough reason to praise Him and thank Him.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message, for hearing our prayers, and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to sing your praises and to be thankful unto you always. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
