God Is Up To Date!

Wednesday's Devotion (6-18-08)

"For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." Colossians 1:16-17 (KJV)

I have a question for those of you who say things like, "Christian Contemporary music is evil!" Since ALL things were created BY God and FOR God, doesn't that mean that Christian Contemporary music is ACTUALLY good because it's serving the purpose that it was designed for, and that's to worship God?

The way I see things is that since EVERYTHING was created by and for God everything can be used for His glory. Everything can be used to serve Him, and those things that aren't being used for Him are the evil things... Because they're being used to rebel. Everything can be used for good or bad, it all comes down to the person using those things (Whatever they may be.) Does that person intend to serve Jesus Christ? I believe that if we open our minds and use more things FOR Christ as they were intended, then we'll be more successful in bringing more people to Christ. Some of us frown on things that are used for Christ like Christian wrestling, Christian rock/contemporary Christian music, what else is there? Christians are frowning on these things, because they don't fall into "tradition." Tradition isn't something that God follows. Don't you think that God is up to the times? Don't you think He's up to date? I mean He made all time! Tradition is holding us back from something great. Some of you are so into the past that you think that God has to speak to you in "thees," and "thous." God will speak to you in whatever language you understand. To think that God is so out-dated, that's what's wrong!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to understand that all things can be used for your glory, and help us to use them for your glory. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
