Be Ready To Meet Your Maker!
Wednesday's Devotion (5-28-08)
"So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom." Psalms 90:12 (KJV)
First off, on a site note: When you go to GodsLovingKindness.com and click on the "Praise Page," I added a little something to that page. About 100 songs from some great artists on a little playlist thing I found. It's great! Check it out. It's a nice legal way for me to put more than just my own songs on the page.
Now, let's get on with this. When I look at this verse what I think is this... We need to apply ourselves to the wisdom of God (The Word of God, The Bible...) because our days are numbered. We're here today, but who's to say we'll be here tomorrow? We must be ready, we must be right with God at all times.
We're at a point in history where I believe that if we don't die tomorrow, we might find Christ coming back for His people! So, there's two reasons to be ready and right with God at all times because again OUR DAYS ARE NUMBERED! None of us, not one of us know when we will leave this earth. Even if a doctor told you that you have six months to live... You could get in a car accident and die tomorrow OR you might live longer than six months. God is in control of our destiny, our lives, and there's nothing we can change about that. But we CAN be ready for the unexpected. So, stop taking your days for granted. Don't plan on accepting and following Jesus tomorrow, plan on doing it right here and right NOW while the chance is there. I think our society watches too many movies, movies where people know when they're dying. That does happen, BUT it's not that common. People die when they never even see it coming. That could be you, are you going to be ready to meet your maker?
Cool, my playlist is playing "Pride Away," by Kutless.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to always be ready to meet you, don't let us be caught off guard. Help us to apply the wisdom of your Word to our lives. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
