Tuesday's Devotion (5-27-08)
"Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again." Luke 6:38 (KJV)
Here's a good promise regarding giving. Some of us are so afraid to give, because a lot of us are without ourselves. We think that if we give then we'll be worse off than we already are, but that's not the case. If we give believing and trusting God, then we shall receive many blessings in return. Give $100 and God just might return $200 to you. That's just an example, you never know... But one thing is for sure, if you provide for others then God will provide for you. Bless and be blessed!
Now, of course this doesn't just go for giving good things. When we pass judgment on others, or when we do bad... Then that's going to be returned as well! Judge and you will be judged... Treat others as you would like to be treated. Do these phrases sound familiar? In other words, if you want good things to happen in your life then you need to make good things happen in other peoples' lives! Do not neglect to do good, and don't ever feel that it's all for nothing. Even if you help someone who doesn't appreciate it, know this: GOD APPRECIATES IT! God is not one that should owe debts to anyone! If we give then God shall return it unto us. You're never going to be able to tell God, "Hey, you owe me." In fact, we owe God because not only did He give His son a ransom for our lives... But He gives us more than we give to others. We are always going to owe God, and He'll make sure of it. Thankfully, He lets us repay Him by living for Him.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to give cheerfully and to help our fellow man whenever they need it. Let us live our lives fully for you. In Jesus name. A-men!
