It’s Too Quiet!
Tuesday's Devotion (5-20-08)
"Better is an handful with quietness, than both the hands full with travail and vexation of spirit." Ecclesiastes 4:6 (KJV)
It's easy to get bored and want things to happen, because things are "too quiet" in your life. A good thing to remember is that it's better for things in your life to be quiet than hectic and chaotic. I've been depressed about things (My music in particular,) things have been "too quiet." I'm anxious, I'm waiting for something to happen in my life and I'm trying to make something happen. I've told Krista before that things are too quiet, and she said something along the lines of... "it's better quiet than crazy."
Some people are so desperate for something to happen, whether it be good or bad... Something to bring excitement to their lives. They're so desperate for it that they'll find ways to create drama. Why not create good things instead of drama? Perhaps they don't feel like they can do something good with their life, but they want something exciting to happen. It's sad... If I'm describing you then let me give you some advice: Get into studying God's Word, get into prayer, and get a good hobby! Get something productive going in your life. Spread the gospel, that's exciting. Do anything that's good and productive that helps you and others instead of bringing people down. I'm at a crossroads... I want my music to take off, but I don't have the funds to properly promote or to get a better quality production and that's really what I need. This is my problem at the moment, but I'm praying and praying and I'm going to believe that the Lord will find a way for me. Because I sure don't have a way, and things are quiet... But I guess I'll just take this quiet time and enjoy it while I can.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to be productive with our lives, let us help others and do good as you would have us do. Don't let us be creators of chaos. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
