Israel (Still God’s Chosen People)
Monday's Devotion (5-19-08)
"But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called [thee] by thy name; thou [art] mine." Isaiah 43:1 (KJV)
You know this stands just as much today as it did the day the Lord spoke it. Although all are now welcome to accept the salvation that Jesus Christ has given us, that doesn't change one undeniable fact: Israel is still God's chosen people. America is a great country, and mighty in battle... BUT I feel sorry for any country that goes against Israel because it doesn't matter how great of a country it is, because God will defend Israel. I'm not saying that America is going against Israel, but what I'm saying is that if America ever does or any country ever does that country will not succeed. If you go against God's chosen people then you'll be left desolate and defeated. "Their armies aren't that powerful," you might say... Well, if you look in the good book (The Bible,) you'll see that they (Israel,) usually are the "under-dogs," but God always delivers His people. Now, I really don't know why I'm doing this topic... but I saw this verse and I skipped over it. I kept feeling to go back to it and write this.
There are people who want to go against Israel and do things that God simply won't allow and these people are even here in America. What I've felt over the last year or so is that one day we (All believers from every part of the world,) will one day have to leave our countries and go stand with Israel. I really don't know what to think of that, but it does make sense. We (Christians,) are adopted children of God and it would make sense for us to stand with God's chosen people if they ever need us. Not to mention as I said earlier we don't want to be standing against them, that's for sure. I'm curious what you all think about this, so please let me know.
Another thing is that we hear a lot of anti-Jewish sentiments even in the church. Since Israel is God's chosen people and since Jesus was Jewish aren't anti-Jewish comments in fact anti-Christ? If you hate Jewish people, don't you hate Christ as well? That's something I've never understood people that claim to be Christian, but are racist against Jewish people. It's not right to be racist against anyone, but Christians who hate Jewish people I'll never understand.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to know and abide by your Will for our lives. Bring spiritual revival to Israel and to the world. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
