Rest In His Arms
Wednesday's Devotion (5-14-08)
"The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms: and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee; and shall say, Destroy them." Deuteronomy 33:27 (KJV)
Discovering scripture can be better than discovering gold, look at this verse! We are in the protection of God's EVERLASTING arms. Security is really hard to find on this earth, we often wonder "What would I do if this person died or moved away?" or "What's going to happen to my loved ones if I die?" Because we ARE merely mortals, we're like vapor in the wind. We're here one minute and gone the next, but thankfully we can ALWAYS count on Jesus. He's the one that's always there, and always will be. He's proven it from the beginning of time. YOU CAN COUNT ON JESUS! That means a lot when you live in a world where you can't really count on any one person too much... There's no "too much," when you're counting on Jesus. Count on Him all you can, He'll never let you down. Just rest in the everlasting arms of God, let Him be your refuge. He's the one you can just completely trust without ANY worries. He'll never turn on you, never forsake you, He'll never die, and He'll never take a day off from loving and protecting you!
People often don't understand our faith. They don't understand the great relief we get in knowing that there's someone we can completely trust, completely confide in, and someone who will never stop loving us. They can't understand why we serve God, but I can't understand why they don't. Sad thing is that some people stop serving God because of what other people think about it... That's sad because God is the only opinion that counts and I'll tell you why: Because God will stand by you, and love you no matter what. Betraying God is a tragedy because He would never do that to us, other people will always let us down. God never will, it's just so sad and tragic that people give up on God because of other peoples' opinions. Their opinions REALLY don't matter, because they're just opinions and God is truth! So, if there's someone discouraging you in your walk with Christ, then walk away from that person. Don't walk away from Christ, because He'll never turn His back on you. That's a God that's worth serving!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to serve you with all our hearts and don't let us be discouraged by others. Let us completely trust in you and rest in your love. In Jesus name. A-men!
