The Word of God Is Exciting!

Wednesday's Devotion (5-7-08)

"I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word." Psalms 119:16 (KJV)

What many believers don't believe is that they need the Word of God in their life. I firmly believe that the Word of God is a MUST! We must study the Bible, we must remember it, and keep it in our hearts. I'll tell you one reason why, because times come where we don't know what to do... But the Word of God comes to our memory through the Holy Spirit. It reminds us what we should do, and it reminds us the words we should speak. You CANNOT be complete in the Lord without studying your Bibles. Some will argue my point, but if you're a believer who doesn't study your Bible then you have to rely on ministers alone for wisdom and guidance. If you don't study the Bible, but you come here and to other sites every day then that's because you have a craving for God's Word. You're hungry, you need to satisfy that hunger before your spirit starves to death. Could you live off of one tiny bite of food a day? You would starve to death, right? This devotion, television ministers, church are all good things... But they're like a tiny bite of food. Their like tasters, they leave you hungry. Go, satisfy that hunger, study God's Word and apply it to your heart! If you've read this far then you no longer have the excuse that you don't have the time to read the Bible. What I wrote here is probably equal in length to one chapter or more of the Bible... And it's not as filling of a meal! It's like a snack if even that.

The problem is that everyone wants things instantly, and easier. People don't want to read their Bibles, they'd rather just watch a minister on television. The problem with that is that the minister might sound right on to you, I might sound right on to you... But without studying the Word of God, how can you be sure that what I say daily is truth? Without the Word of God if you say that what I say daily is truth, it's just your opinion. You could be wrong about me, you could be wrong about the television ministers, about your pastor at church. You should have confidence that what you're hearing is the truth of God! Study your Bibles, you'll be glad you did. There is really interesting/enlightening things in the Word of God! It's not boring, some pastors might make it sound boring at times... But it's them that's boring, not the Word of God! I like a pastor that shares the Word of God with enthusiasm and excitement, one that's excited about the Word of God. When they're not excited, it's hard for me to get excited and if I don't get excited then guess what? I have a very short attention span, so they'll lose me quick. I'll be left asking someone who was listening more attentively, "What was the point of the message? I didn't get any of it." Well, with this long rant I probably lost some of you, so I'll wrap it up.

Joy FM Radio has a free pamphlet to help you plan your Bible reading in order to read through the entire Bible within a year. I recommend you check it out, I'm going to! Click here

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Help us to study your Word and to be excited about it, set our hearts on fire for you and your Word. Help us to know the truth of your Word that we can't be deceived. Bless our time in your Word. In Jesus name. A-men!

On a side note, I've been working my new job at Subway for my THIRD DAY now. Third Day rocks! ;) Well, anyway it's been going good and the Subway is right down the street. Everyone is really friendly there, so I'm happy with it. I just have to get used to it.

God bless!
