Being a Faithful Witness
Monday's Devotion (4-28-08)
"A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies." Proverbs 14:5 (KJV)
Site Update: Before we get to today's devotion, I have some site news. Last night we added an advertising program that plays 5 second voice clips on our website whenever the main page is loaded at www.GodsLovingKindness.com. This is to help support our site as finances are low... But I never wanted to put any banners on the site and with this program I don't have to. If the voice clips annoy you then just remember to turn off your speakers before visiting our website and that'll take care of that little problem. Don't worry there shouldn't be any offensive ads. Just wanted to give you a heads up. And for anyone who runs their own website and needs a way to pay for it then you might want to check out this program as well: http://www.sellingppp.com/a.cgi?ppp=1216497786
Devotion: Now, let's get on with today's devotion! It's easy to get caught up in lies... You know we might lie to spare someone's feelings, etc, etc. But the problem is that one lie leads to another, no matter what the reason you lied in the first place. You start lying a little here and a little there, and soon enough you'll find out that you're a habitual liar. Meaning you lie out of habit, then you'll find yourself planning to lie in advance... Thinking up stories. I know because I've been there, I find myself going back to that place at times and I hate it. I hate it because I know that liars will not inherit the Kingdom of God.
With that being said we have to put ourselves in the habit of telling the truth, REGARDLESS of the situation. We might lose friends, we might even lose family members in the process, but we'll be blessed by God! We will not lose God, we will not lose the Kingdom of God! I would rather offend my own family by telling them the truth than to offend God by lying to them. Even if it's a "little lie," like if someone asks you how their new hair style looks... If you think it looks horrible then don't lie and say it's nice. A "little lie," is a lie in itself. There are no little lies with God, all lies are created equal in the eyes of God because lies are created to deceive. Satan is the deceiver, we are not children of Satan that we should follow after him and his ways. We are children of God that we should follow after Him and His ways! Don't be little Satan Jr. running around telling lies... That statement makes me want to stop lying, I don't know about you.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Help us to tell the truth and nothing, but the truth. Don't let us walk in the image of the deceiver, but let us walk in your image as you have created us to do. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
