Be a Giver Not a Receiver!

Friday's Devotion (4-25-08)

"The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth." Psalms 37:21 (KJV)

As God's children we're not to borrow we are to give, but if we do borrow we are to REPAY our debts. A lot of Christians would rather file bankruptcy than pay off their debts. I understand that it's not easy to pay your debts (I'm in a lot of debt right now,) but even if you have to pay little by little then God will honor your effort. Unpaid debt can hinder your blessings from God. You should not neglect what you owe another, and you should not neglect giving charity.

We are to live in God's image, God is not in debt... God gives, and what we give to God He certainly repays and THEN SOME! So, in other words no matter what we give to God, we will always owe Him and not the other way around because he'll repay us more than we gave. So, when dealing with others we should live by the same standards. We shouldn't owe people, we should give to them without expecting anything in return. We should be givers, not receivers. Let your reward be from God.

On a side note, I really feel sorry for all the people who didn't participate in our prayer week. I prayed for Lori, she prayed for me... And her mom is doing much better, and I got a new job! And the best part about my new job is that it's in walking distance! You all know how I've really been wanting a job like that, especially since I have no car. The Lord heard and blessed our prayers. Of course this site is open for free conversation, so if anyone wants to post prayer requests and pray for others then you're certainly still welcome to do that.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to give and not to owe any debts to anyone. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
