Signed, Sealed, Delivered!
Thursday's Devotion (4-17-08)
"Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost." 1 Corinthians 12 :3 (KJV)
Jesus is the Lord! That statement right there is all the proof I need that the Holy Ghost lives inside of me. Likewise if someone curses Jesus or says bad things about Him, that's all the proof that we need to conclude that the Holy Ghost does NOT live in them. I've said this before, but a method I use when trying to feel someone out and see if they're really a Christian like they say they are is this: I like to see if they ever use the name of Jesus. In my mind anyone who never uses the name of Jesus is NOT a Christian, and they don't have the Holy Ghost. Our current President is a good example of that, he claims Christianity, but I for one have never heard him use the name of Jesus. A true believer/follower will not be ashamed to speak the name of Jesus! We should never be ashamed to say, "Jesus is my Lord!" That's a testament of our faith, it's a testament of the fact that the Holy Ghost is in us, and that's something to shout for joy about!
It's a good way to test yourself as well... Some of us don't believe that we're saved, we don't believe that the Holy Ghost is in us. All we have to do is ask ourselves these questions: Do we want to follow Jesus? Do we consider Jesus to be our Lord and savior? If the answer is YES then the Holy Ghost is in us and if the Holy Ghost is in us then we are saved and sealed! In other words consider yourself on your way to Heaven as good as signed, sealed, and delivered! You just stay on the track, stay in God's Word, and continue following in the footsteps of Jesus. If you wander astray and continue in the path of evil then your heart is going to harden, and it'll harden to the point where you do not accept Jesus... Where you may start cursing Him and denying Him. You may not think it's possible now, but if you wander too far from home then it is possible. Stay close to the Lord, and don't let go of His hand.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to never wander astray from you. Keep us close and fill us with your Holy Spirit. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
