What Is YOUR Reward?
Tuesday's Devotion (4-15-08)
"For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head." Obadiah 1:15 (KJV)
This is a powerful verse, because it tells us exactly how it is. It sums up A LOT of chapters in this one verse. I believe that this verse goes for both the good and the bad that we do. There is a reward for bad and for good deeds, but the reward for evil doing is not a reward you want to reap. I mean, if you're an evil-doer... Who is going to say, "Congratulations!! You've won a trip to the lake of fire?" If someone told me that, I'd say, "You go right ahead and keep the prize, I don't want it." But unfortunately, we accept or reject that "reward" with our actions. Do we trust in the Lord? Do we obey the Lord? Do we help those in need of help? Life is an exam, it is a test and how we do here will decide our ultimate fate. But the main deciding factor is: Do you have faith in Christ and what He did for you? This factor will control all other factors, because if you have the faith then you'll obey God, if you have the faith then you'll help other people in need and so on. In other words, if you have the faith then you'll bear the fruit that the faith produces. If you don't have the faith then you're on the fast track to accepting that trip to the pits of Hell. The bottom line is that it's up to you ultimately. Are you going to dedicate your life to Jesus? Are you going to study and obey His Word? Are you going to put your faith in Him?
As you have done it will be done unto you. You know there are people who get joy out of harming others, out of doing sick and twisted things to other people. But guess what? When the time comes they aren't going to get any joy out of the JUSTICE they will receive. I'm talking about God's justice. They will suffer because they made others to suffer... There was a polygamist camp out there in Texas where there were like over 400 children being raped and molested. These sick people get joy out of doing these things to little children! Now, it's definitely not right to do these things to anyone... but we're talking about LITTLE CHILDREN! They cannot defend themselves in the least bit. If these people think they're going to get away with this, they've got another thing coming. God will bring justice upon these people, and they will pay for what they did to these children: mentally, physically, and spiritually. God is both a deliverer of justice and a rewarder of good. We will all receive a reward for our actions/words whether it be for good or for bad. But let's take the time to pray for these victims of this polygamist camp. The wounds they are going to have are only going to be able to be healed by Jesus.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help these victims of this polygamist camp, bring them to you and your will be done with the people who did these horrible things to these kids and other victims. Help us to abide in your Will and don't let us wander astray. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
