Are You Going Down a Dead End Street?
Tuesday's Devotion (4-1-08)
"Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich." Proverbs 28:6 (KJV)
You know it’s better to be poor and with value, with godliness than to give up your upright standing with God in order to be rich. Why do we feel the need to do things that aren’t right in order to advance? Lack of faith in God? Hopelessness? God will provide of us, if we’ll trust in Him and follow His plans and not our own. There’s more of a reward when you make it where you’re going the right way, than there is to lie, cheat, and steal your way to it. Do the right thing always and know that God will reward you for it... In His timing! You don’t need to be corrupt in order to prosper. What you need to do is trust the Lord.
I really don’t know what else can be added, except: Don’t compromise your values, don’t compromise your faith in Christ to get an advantage or for anything else. If you trust and obey Him always then you’ll be blessed for it. Stay on the straight and narrow path, don’t be tempted to go down another road... Because if it’s not the straight and narrow, then it’s a dead end!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Help us to be upright in you always and to never compromise, and to never give in to temptation. Keep us on the straight and narrow path to your Kingdom. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
