Power of Jesus’ Name

Saturday's Devotion (3-29-08)

"The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe." Proverbs 18:10 (KJV)

The name of the Lord is powerful, it’s actually our greatest weapon against Satan. We should always call upon the name of Jesus, whether we’re in trouble or not… But use that name of Jesus as a weapon when the enemy seeks to bring you harm. When Satan messes with you, remind him that you’re protected by the blood of Jesus (The same blood that defeated him.) Speak the name of Jesus, and believe that there’s power in the name of Jesus.

I don’t know if this is just me, but I kind of test peoples’ spirits by whether or not they use the name of Jesus. Like our current president claims to be Christian, but I never once heard him use the name of Jesus. I’ve heard him say, "God," but never Jesus and that concerns me. The same goes for a lot of other people. Why don’t they ever speak the name of Jesus? Especially when you’re listening to a believer it shouldn’t be rare to hear the name of Jesus from their mouth. Maybe it’s just me that finds this weird, maybe not… But it’s definitely something that has been bothering me. Don’t be afraid to speak the name of Jesus, be afraid not to!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who’ve sinned against us. Please help us to call upon your name at all times and to believe in the power thereof. In Jesus name. A-men!
