Expect Great Things
Thursday's Devotion (3-27-08)
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." Joshua 1:9 (KJV)
A lot of verses about fear keep popping up these last few days... I guess that’s the message the Lord wants me to spread. Maybe it’s the message that one or more of you need to hear. While the Lord wasn’t talking directly to us in this verse, it definitely applies to us (His children,) today. The Lord our God is with us everywhere we go, that pretty much means that nothing can go wrong... It can only go how He wants it to go, and I trust God’s decision making skills. I trust Him over myself, and over others that’s for sure! I try to completely trust in Him, but sometimes I let my own "logic" get in the way of that. The truth is though that God is always right, and every plan He has is perfect for us. Sometimes it’s difficult to put our trust in Him, but it shouldn’t be. If you think about it long and hard, He’s the only one we CAN trust fully and completely! Not that your friends and family, and even yourself don’t have good intentions... It’s just that intentions aren’t perfect. God sees the whole picture, God is all knowing and all loving. He cannot "mess" anything up. He cannot fail you or me or anyone else.
I don’t know what else I can say besides "Trust in the Lord for all things." Pray to Him, ask Him for the things you need and EXPECT great things. Don’t lack in expectations, because He won’t lack in provision.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who’ve sinned against us. Please help us to trust in you with all our being and to not be afraid. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
