Easter Devotion
Sunday's Devotion (3-23-08)
"He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay." Matthew 28:6 (KJV)
First just let me say happy Easter to everyone! Today is the day we celebrate Jesus’ victory over death... And for those of us in Christ it is our victory as well. Death was defeated when Christ rose from the dead, it could not hold him down because He was innocent without sin. Death is for sinners, death is for people like you and me who are guilty of something. The death sentence was given to us all the day Adam and Eve sinned against the Lord... But the day that Christ rose from His grave was the day we were freed of our death sentence.
I want to add something else that’s really kind of important. A lot of people say that our Lord Jesus Christ is dead, that’s not the case. He died, rose again, AND ascended into Heaven and is alive forevermore. If He wouldn’t of ascended into Heaven He would still be here today. Now, just because He isn’t on earth does not mean He isn’t alive. He IS alive and He will return one day. As followers of Christ when we "die" on earth we will not really be dead... Our spirits will just have left the earth, and we’ll be with the Lord. We will still be alive! So, when I "die" don’t mourn for me because I’m really still alive... I just moved away. Death is for people who do not accept Jesus’ victory over death. Death is not for me, and I hope it’s not for those of you reading this. You can accept Jesus’ victory and be partakers in it, if you let Him into your heart. Just visit our site: www.GodsLovingKindness.com and click on "God’s Free Gift," and read that information if you’d like to be saved. When you’re done reading that just send us a prayer request if you want and we’ll pray with you.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who’ve sinned against us. We also thank you for sending your Son to give us victory over death. We pray that you’d use us to let others know that they have the victory as well if they accept it and don’t ever let us feel defeated. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
