Endure Until The End
Thursday's Devotion (3-20-08)
"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved." Matthew 10:22 (KJV)
For Christ’s sake we’re going to be hated by those in the world. When you go to work, there are going to be employees (Maybe even your boss,) who hate you... Simply because you love Jesus Christ. This is persecution for Christ’s sake, this is the prophecy of Jesus come to pass. Don’t be sad about it, be happy because your treasures in Heaven are piling up! Everywhere you go, there are going to be people that hate you because you love Christ. Be ready for it, be strong and stand until the end. Endure!
I’ve heard stories of persecution in other countries, one story in particular... A new believer got fired from his job because He accepted Christ. The sad thing is that this new believer did NOT endure until the end. He gave up his walk with Christ because he was so angry about it costing him his job. He wasn’t grounded in the Word of God enough to know that this would happen and to know that his reward in Heaven would be great for it. He just thought that since he got fired for Christ that Christ must not really be real. How could God let that happen? That was his mindset. It’s sad because he didn’t endure through that persecution until the end... Only those who endure until the end, keeping the faith until the very end (No matter what,) shall be saved. You can’t be saved because you used to follow Christ, you can only be saved if you continue until the end. You have to keep walking with Christ all the way to the finish line. You can’t give up before you get there. Things are going to come up against you in order to discourage you from finishing the race... But don’t be discouraged, let those things ENCOURAGE you because you know that they’re trying to stop you from great things. But as long as you don’t give up, THEY CAN’T STOP YOU! Endure until the end my friends.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who’ve sinned against us. Please give us the strength and the courage to endure until the end no matter what comes up against us. Help us to know and understand your Word, and use us to encourage others to keep in the faith. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
