Prolonged Days...
Friday's Devotion (3-15-08)
"The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened." Proverbs 10:27 (KJV)
In my opinion, this verse isn’t talking about our days on earth... But rather our eternal days. Because if you look at how things are, the wicked live longer than the righteous on earth. That’s because the wicked need more time in order to repent of their sins, and the righteous need less time to go back to their sinful ways. We know that those who fear the Lord (The righteous,) are going to live forever with Him in His Kingdom. And the wicked are going to be cut off and cast into Hell. So, I can only imagine that this verse wouldn’t be referring to life on this earth... But rather our life to come.
What people don’t realize is that whether you’re saved or not, your soul lives forever... The only difference is, if you’re not saved your soul lives forever in torment in Hell. If you’re saved, then you’re saved from that destiny and you live forever in God’s Kingdom in peace and in joy of the Holy Ghost. Some are deceived into believing that if they don’t accept Christ that their soul just dies... Let me put it this way, if you don’t accept Christ then you’re going to wish that your soul could die. But it won’t die. So, the best bet is to accept Christ NOW!
