Watch, Wait, Be Ready!

Wednesday's Devotion (3-12-08)

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." Matthew 24:42 (KJV)

We're to watch, wait, and be ready for the Lord's return at all time. To watch is to know the prophecies, and to keep up with world events to know when they've come to pass. In other words know when the hour of his return is near... When it's near, not when it is! Wait by being patient and being ready for it. When you go on a trip you usually pack your bags in advance, well start packing your spiritual bags... Be ready and keep in God's Word, prayer, and obey His Word and keep your faith at all times. Don't be caught off guard. Don't be distracted by things of this world... Be ready for the return of Christ.

A lot of followers don't even know what's going on in the world right now. I try to keep up with the news, but I don't do it good enough. It's important because we could be right with God now, but when Jesus comes we might be caught off guard and we'll miss out. We'll be left behind because we wandered off for a moment, the wrong moment might I add. President Bush is feeling pretty confident right now that he'll establish a middle east peace treaty (Between Israel and Palestine.) before he's out of office... I don't think he'll achieve his goal, but who am I to say for sure? If he does achieve it, then we're looking at being right in the midst of the last days. Well, we're already in the last days... But I mean the VERY final days. A lot of believers don't understand the importance of the peace treaty, and why it didn't happen already a long time ago. Read the book of Revelation. Know the prophecy in this book and watch for it to come to pass. The Lord is coming, and it'll be sooner than what any of us expect. Be ready at all times.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to be ready for your Son's return, and to watch for it. Don't let us be caught off guard. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
