Nothing Better To Do
Wednesday's Devotion (2-20-08)
"But our God [is] in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased." Psalm 115:3 (KJV)
Yesterday, when my wife, Krista and I were praying, the devil put a wicked thought in my head. He said to me, "The Lord has better things to do than that!" It's a weird thought to just pop up in my head so the devil can have the credit for that one... I don't want it. I'll take the credit for my response, better yet I'll give that to the Lord... "No He doesn't, the Lord loves His children and in His heart there is NOTHING better to be done than to protect, love, and care for His children." Our God has done whatever He pleases, and that is watching out for us. Our God takes joy in taking care of us. How great is that? The Lord has NOTHING better to do than to love you and I... There is nothing more important to the Lord than us (His children.) Keep that in mind always.
Another way to look at this verse is this: So, many of us try and put God in that proverbial box. People who need new kidneys, livers, etc pray for transplants instead of healing. Can God not heal you? God can do whatever He pleases. If you put your faith in Him then it would please Him to answer your prayers. People don't pray for complete miracles, they pray for the "realistic result." When we pray to God we should take FULL advantage of the fact that God can perform ANY miracle. He is not restricted, He is not in a box.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to trust in you and to know that you love us and will hear and answer our prayers and that you have no restrictions. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
