Let Not Your Heart Be Troubled

Monday's Devotion (2-11-08)

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." John 14:27 (KJV)

Peace is given unto us through the Holy Ghost which Christ left for God's children when He died. He (The Holy Spirit,) is our comforter, He gives us peace. Fear is NOT of Him. If you're feeling fear that's not God putting that fear into you. Fear is created by the lies of Satan: Fear is worry and doubt. Fear can even be when you dread something (Like going to work or school, etc.) We must trust God for EVERYTHING in our life. We must trust that He'll make everything alright or that He'll get us through it.

That too where is the Holy Spirit comes in. He'll remind of us of the promises God has made in His Word, He'll speak to our hearts and give us comfort and assurance. We just have to trust what He says and when you think about it, we should have no problem at all doing that. I think that a problem I've had and still do most of the time is that I try to put all the weight on my shoulders. A lot of us do that, we try to solve our own problems and we can't. Impossible forces come up against us that we cannot defeat on our own, we have to trust in the Lord. We have to let Him carry that weight and He's more than capable of doing that! We have to surrender all of our problems and fears to Him and let Him take care of them. I'm still learning how to do this, I desperately need to do this I know that. I also know that I'm not the only one that needs to learn this. When we feel fear, maybe instead of condemning ourselves for the fear and causing more fear.... we should just turn it over to God. "Lord take this fear from me, take away my unbelief."

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please take away our fears, our worries, and doubts and heal us of our unbelief. May we be able to fully trust in you with all that we have in all that we are and all that we do. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
