Long Term Investment
Saturday's Devotion (2-9-08)
"Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded." 2 Chronicles 15:7 (KJV)
Someone once told me to put banner ads on our site to make money, they said "If you're not making money off the site then what's the point of having it?" While I do have one section on the site where people can order from our affiliates and I would get a percentage that section is really only used by me. So, we haven't profited off of this website one bit. Nobody donates to us, but it's not about that. It's not about that at all. The point of this is not about earning money, it's about earning souls for the Kingdom and our reward will be in Heaven. Our reward will be much greater than what we could earn on this earth. That's the point of running a ministry whether it be online or off, it should NEVER be about money. If it were about money this site wouldn't be here, I wouldn't be here, and countless other ministries would not be here. It's about a passion for the Lord and that shows in our work. If you have a passion for the Lord then let it show in your work too. Get out there and do something great for the Lord and His Kingdom of Heaven! Don't expect anything in return for it (On this earth anyway,) but know this: The Lord will reward you in His Kingdom.
It's sad that some see ministry as a business. It's sad that some want personal gain from it, they need something to drive them to do it. Isn't the countless souls that will end up in Hell if they don't hear the gospel enough drive for us? If you really must see ministry as a business then think of it as a long term investment, you won't see any return on that investment until you go to be with the Lord. BUT the return will be great, greater than you ever expected. I should also note that the Lord does bless us while we're here on earth when we do good. But He's going to bless us so much more in His Kingdom and if you're doing the Lord's work you can be blessed to know that when you get there... Some extra faces will be there that might not have been if not for you.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to do your work and to bring glory to you. May we help bring many more to you. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless!
