Spreading The Gospel
Thursday's Devotion (2-7-08)
"And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned." Mark 16:15-16 (KJV)
It is VERY important that WE (You and I,) take the time to preach the gospel. We could run into someone on the street today that might die tomorrow without ever knowing Christ, and that's tragic. It's beyond tragic for them. The things that will become of them are things you would hate to see even happen to your worse enemy. That's why it's important for us to take spreading the gospel very seriously. I can't say that I've been too good at it, but I'll be praying and working on being much better. Obviously, running this website is not enough because the main audience I get here are people who already know Christ. While that's great and important in itself, it doesn't bring new believers. We have to reach out to the unsaved as well as the saved, that's what a lot of people in the church do not understand. We have separated ourselves with the church walls from society instead of going out and finding people and bringing them in too.
I've been saying it for awhile now, I don't know what the next step is for me, but I have a desire and urge to do something great for the Lord. I don't know what it is and it's kind of frustrating to be honest. The last time I felt this way was before we purchased this website. It's like that "promotion feeling," I want to be promoted and do greater things for Christ. I want to bring people that don't know Him to Him. Am I ready? I don't know. I do know that I feel the calling and I do know that many other believers do as well. I firmly believe that God has a great plan for ALL of His children, some just aren't accepting that plan... Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us.
