Receive Victory

Saturday's Devotion (2-2-08)

"When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots, and a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God is with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt." Deuteronomy 20:1 (KJV)

I believe that this verse applies to us today just like it did the Israelites back then. Our battles might be different today, but whether it be people, sickness, etc we can count on the Lord to deliver us to victory. If you're battling something right now, if you want victory then you have to first realize that the Lord is able and willing to give it! So, the question is... Will you receive it? Receive it by faith.

Funny thing happened the other day when I was still in Southern California. I went down there to learn to drive and get my license because I never got the chance to learn before this. My brother in law taught me and the first day I took the driver's test I was so nervous that I failed. I made what they call a "critical error." I got to retake the test the next day and the instructor who failed me was about to get me again... but she forgot her pen and went in to get it. While she was inside another instructor came and snatched me up. I was less nervous and I passed, but I believe that it was the Lord that stepped in and took that first instructor away. Not that it matters which instructor you get, but after being failed by one and getting them again it starts to make you nervous again. But my point is that when you pray and believe then you will receive victory.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to have and keep our faith. Don't let us doubt your awesome power. Draw us closer to you and guide us always. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless!
