Thursday's Devotion (6-7-07)
"IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, AND TO SING PRAISES UNTO THY NAME, O MOST HIGH: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night, Upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; upon the harp with a solemn sound." Psalm 92:1-3 (KJV)
It is not only a good thing, but a very important thing for us to give praise and thanks to the Lord. It's a way of releasing our burdens and lifting our spirits. Praising and thanking the Lord, is very under-rated among some believers. If you're not doing it, do it! It's a very important part of our walks with Jesus. It'll make a tremendous difference in your life.
God created music for us to praise Him with it. If we're not giving thanks and praise, then we're not doing one of the many things we were created to do and that leaves us incomplete. Some of you are going to say, "Well, I praise Him and thank Him at church." However, you need to do it EVERY DAY! The rest of today's devotion is up to you: Go sing a song of praise and thanks to the Lord. Doesn't matter which song, whichever you feel like singing... Even if you made it up yourself, which may be the best thing anyway as that is directly from your heart. When you sing to the Lord it doesn't matter how bad you sound either, what matters is whether or not it's coming from your heart. If it's coming from your heart, all the Lord sees is beauty. Give it a try, and bless the Lord and let Him bless you in return!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to realize the importance of praising and thanking you, and bless our time in doing so daily. In Jesus name. A-men!
