Communication
Saturday's Devotion (6-2-07)
"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God." James 1:19-20 (KJV)
This is one of my problems: I get angry and shoot off my mouth before I hear out the person I'm getting angry at. After I do that, and they finally get to say something... They say something that totally puts me back in my place, I find out that I was wrong. So, usually after that I get to feel stupid and little for awhile. As Christians we need to give our ear to others, hear them out and not be quick to anger.
Misunderstandings cause so many problems with friends, family, spouses, etc. If we all could talk out our problems and LISTEN to one another, then we wouldn't have so many misunderstandings and problems. Lack of communication is what destroys relationships, and part of communication is listening. Communication isn't just talking, but listening and that part is just as important as the other part (talking.) If you don't talk, nobody can listen and if you don't listen nobody can talk. It's really pretty simple.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to communicate effectively with each other, let us listen to one another and solve our problems in the right way. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless
