Give Back

Thursday's Devotion (5-31-07)

"Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth." Ephesians 4:28 (KJV)

Some of us are so guilt filled about things we've done in our past. Some were criminals, some were killers, rapists, and the list goes on. Of course these are things that we should have guilt and remorse about if we did them. However, I believe that if we're truly sorry about doing these things, then we'll do something to make a difference in these areas. If you were a criminal, then work to give back to those who are without. If you were a rapist then work to prevent people from falling victim to rape. I've heard of ex-rapists telling people how to spot/avoid being a victim. There is so much that you can do to make a difference. You can make a difference. Stop sitting there and feeling guilty about the wrongs of your past, and start making right today.

Even if you weren't a criminal, rapist, killer, etc... You can still make a difference, and it is your calling to do so. God is calling you to make a difference. "But I don't have a ministry," you might say. Your ministry can be whatever special skill you might possess and I believe that we all have a special skill. Your ministry doesn't have to be standing at a pulpit on Sundays. I still can't get over this: There are Christian WRESTLING events for crying out loud. If wrestling can be used for God's glory, then what can't be? And if you don't think that you have a special skill... You just haven't discovered it yet. It's there!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to use any special skill or knowledge that we may have for your glory. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
