R.O.A. (Ready On Arrival)

Thursday's Devotion (5-10-07)

"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." Matthew 24:42 (KJV)

One of the greatest mysteries among us believers is, "When will Christ return?" I certainly am not going to try and pretend like I know the answer, and anyone who does say they know the answer are simply pretending themselves. Nobody except God knows when Jesus Christ will return. All we have is the promise of His return, no date, no time set. All we can do is be ready at all times to go with Him. It's kind of like when you're waiting for someone to come pick you up, you constantly look out your window to see if they're there yet. You're all ready to go when they pull up, and when they arrive you leave... And if you're not ready when they arrive, you don't leave. Usually, your ride will wait for you to get ready, but in this case of Jesus' return... HE WILL NOT WAIT! You must be ready on arrival!

We have to treat every single day as if it's the day of the Lord's return. You know what that means? That means that we must be in submission to the Lord, we must be obedient to Him at all times. We must always be in the right frame of mind, and drunk or high on drugs. We must be loving to our fellow man at all times. How would you feel if you were treating someone really badly and then just all of the sudden, the person you were treating badly disappeared? Went to be with the Lord, and you... You were left here with all the other sinners? How would you feel?

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've sinned against us. Please help us to be prepared for your Son's glorious return. Don't let us be left here while other believers are taken away with you. We want to go with you in the clouds! In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
