Monday's Devotion (5-7-07)

For today's devotion we have a special treat as my Mother-in-Law, Karen will sit in. So, what you're about to read is her take on faith...

"But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour." Matthew 9:22 (KJV)

I just started reading in the Old Testament again. Each morning I like to start out my day by fellowshipping with God. I use this private time of fellowshipping with prayer, mediating, and reading my Bible. I seek after the ways of God, by learning more about Jesus everyday that my faith, trust, and life can rest in the peace of God. You all can have a personal relationship with my Lord too. Learning more causes my life to grow with purpose by showing me what God's plan for my life. God sent his son Jesus Christ to die in our place; Jesus rose from the dead in order to break the destiny of our chains of death so that we can live eternally in the presence of the Lord. We must read our bible daily (dig in by reading from the beginning to the end so we know what and why we believe, so we can give an answer to others of the truth and the way to salvation, to be stronger so that we can handle things we go through in life, and to have the assurance of our salvation without doubt that no one can take that away. To know we can rely on the Lord God Almighty at all times.

Read your bible to know God's plan for your life. Do you know God's plan? If not look and seek to know God and you will find God and learn that God does have a perfect plan for your life. Many years ago I asked God to show me how to get to know him and He was faithful and continues to be. First I had to see that I was marked with a spiritual stamp that read "damaged/invalid" where I was not sealed with God's valid/approved by Christ stamp. By acknowledging I was a sinner who needed to be cleansed by the cleansing power of Jesus Christ, then asking God to come into my life by acknowledging Jesus as my Salvation, He became my Savior. Then each day is a new day, because He washed away all my past sins and made me new.  Each day I am renewed and refreshed by my Savior Christ Jesus. Everyday I had that assurance that my Lord God Almighty is with me, and my protector where I can do all things through Christ because I am His child.

For those of you that have received Christ as your savior remember the good news is that God has for each of you a glorious life of victory in Jesus Christ; many, many blessed experiences of walking with Him. For those that might be discouraged remember that when God leads us; it seems first, through the wilderness for a purpose of training and teaching us to trust in Him. Lessons of faith that are so important if I'm going to conquer and take the land that God has promised because the taking of the land is actually the appropriation of faith. "Every place you put your foot", God said to Joshua, "I have given it you. But you've got to go in and put your foot there. You've got to claim it."  God has given to us exceeding rich and precious promises. You've got to claim them by faith. You've got to move in and take that which God has promised to you as His child. But before you can do it, you need to learn about God. You need to learn to trust in God, and God is teaching us the lessons of faith, and trusting in Him, showing us His abilities and His powers. So we find here the purposes of God. "The people feared the Lord", (reverenced the Lord) "and they believed in the Lord." Their faith now is growing. Today I say to you "move in and claim God's precious promises by faith, you are a child of God so trust your heavenly father for He is a God of Love."

God bless
