Knowledge is Power!

Saturday's Devotion (4-14-07)

"Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth." John 9:41 (KJV)

Now this verse isn't speaking of being blind in a physical sense, but in a spiritual sense. If you do something that you know is sin, then you are not blind and there is no excuse for your sin. It is those who don't know that something is sin that are held less responsible. It's just like the verse about condemning yourself... If you judge someone else for sin (especially the same sins you've committed,) then you are confessing that you know those sins are wrong, and you condemn yourself.

Basically, knowledge is power. Through knowledge you can find salvation, and through knowledge you can find condemnation. It is not a bad thing to be knowledgeable, but what you do with that knowledge is what matters. With knowledge of the scriptures, comes responsibility. We could all run and hide, but at the same time we need this knowledge. Without the knowledge of Jesus Christ, we still can't be saved. It's just something to think about, especially before we find ourselves judging others.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to use our knowledge wisely, and help us to become more knowledgeable in the things of you. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
