Tomorrow
Monday's Devotion (4-2-07)
"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." Matthew 6:34 (KJV)
I think I've been looking to tomorrow too much. I'm the type that gets over-whelmed too, so when I start thinking, "Tomorrow I have to do this, tomorrow this is happening, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow..." I get really stressed about tomorrow when today isn't even over yet. All I need to do is set my focus on Jesus and the things of today. I think a lot of us have these problems. I hear so many people talking about tomorrow...
The sad thing is that we talk about tomorrow as if we're guaranteed to have a tomorrow. This is why we give thanks for each day, because God has allowed us to be here another day. If we continue to take each day for granted then how many more days will we have? Maybe we do have a tomorrow, but tomorrow may not go the way you plan it today. Things happen, you are not in control of each day. So, if you're bragging or worrying about something that's supposed to happen tomorrow, you might be in for a shock when it doesn't happen. These are just things to think about, things to remind you to stay in prayer and keep giving thanks. Be thankful for your life today, because tomorrow it might change forever. Also, you need to be reminded to say the things and do the things that need to be done concerning your loved ones, because they may not have a tomorrow. I can't stress it enough to show them how much you care, and bring them to Jesus!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Thank you for this day, and help us not to look towards tomorrow. Also, help us not to look back at the past, but let us focus on you and today. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless
