Angels

Tuesday's Devotion (3-27-07)

"Let brotherly love continue. Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." Hebrews 13-1-2 (KJV)

Some don't believe that you can meet an angel on the street, or talk with one, but you might've already: The angel could've been the homeless man in need of food that you passed by without helping, the angel could've been someone you yelled at, or someone who gave you help. The list goes on about who it could've been, but the question is did you pass the love exam? Did you show that angel love? Did help them out or did you leave them without?

Some may think I'm crazy, but I believe these verses, I believe that there are angels among us. I'm talking about literal angels, I'm not talking about me or you. We're His saints, not angels. Some say, "You're such an angel," or, "I'm an angel from Heaven." That's a nice compliment, but no we are not angels. Humans are not angels, nor do we ever become angels! Not in this life or in the next will we ever become angels! Angels have always been angels, they are not people who died and went to Heaven. Just like demons have always been demons, they are not people who died and went to Hell! As a matter of fact, demons used to be angels before they turned evil against God. Satan used to be an angel, but he chose to turn away from God and he took a lot of the angels along with him. The rest of the angels chose to stay with God, and they remain angels... The ones that turned away became very evil and became demons. People have this weird idea that these creatures were actually human at one time and they died. Not true! It's not Biblical at all. Why is this important? It's important because some of you think that your mother is your guardian angel or something. While your mother, brother, sister, etc might be in Heaven... They are not looking down on you, they are not protecting you! That is the job of God and His holy angels. Heaven is a place of joy, imagine this: My brother who died in 1992, let's imagine that he could see everything happening down here. He would see my mother cry, he would see me suffering, my sister and my older brother. How could he be joyful when he's watching sadness? It's like going to the theatre and watching a sad movie, and coming out laughing with a big smile. In order for God to keep the joy in Heaven, He must erase our earthly memories. Earth is not a happy place, especially when you compare it to the Kingdom of God!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to love one another, and to treat each other as we are all angels so that when we do meet one we will pass the test given to us. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
