Our Goal
Monday's Devotion (3-26-07)
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:13-15 (KJV)
I'm reminded of two songs, "Does Anybody Hear Her," by Casting Crowns and, "Asleep In The Light," by Keith Green. Two great songs if you want to check them out. Anyway, let's get on with this... Many of us are sitting here waiting for the great revival, but that's the problem, we're just sitting here. If we want the masses to come to the Lord, then we must bring the Lord to the masses! People will not come to Jesus, if they do not know that they need to! It's sad, America is so rich in the gospel, yet they're so poor. We have so many Bibles, but so little read them, so little preach them. You might ask, "With us being so rich in the gospel, how can anyone not know that they need Jesus?" As someone who didn't know, I can tell you how... I knew of Jesus, but I never knew that I needed a relationship with Him until I was told at about 16 or 17. That's when I accepted Him, when I was told! Simply knowing about Jesus or God is not enough, we need to know that we need a relationship with Him. I'm sure that there are some in America that don't even know Jesus exists, and that's a real shame because that says that we're failing miserably.
What do we need to do? We need to stop keeping Jesus to ourselves, and start letting others in on this wonderful discovery. It's like we have a treasure map to a treasure so big that it could feed the entire world for eternity, yet we're keeping it all to ourselves when people are starving around us. It's not right! Every time an unsaved person dies, that is one more time that we have failed. How many times have we failed? How many more times will we fail? It can't be numbered! Even if you bring one person to Christ in your lifetime you have made a huge difference, that person will bring someone else and so on. But our goal should not be one, but it should be all. So, start working towards that goal.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to bring many souls to you through your Gospel. May we be obedient to you in all things. In Jesus name. A-men!
