The Truth

Tuesday's Devotion (3-6-07)

"And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God." 1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (KJV)

Now, when we preach or minister unto others, we have a responsibility to make sure that we're teaching to others what the Spirit of God is teaching/telling us, instead of our own beliefs. We can't be teaching our own doctrines in the name of Jesus, like many do anyways. If you teach someone something that leads to destruction, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE! You do not want to be held responsible for such things before God, because these things aren't taken lightly. Remember the goal is to save as many souls as possible before that final day, so that all can be saved and that none would have to perish. God hates seeing people perish, He wants us all to be saved, but in order for that to happen we must first come to and accept the TRUTH. Without the truth (Which is Jesus,) we can't be saved.

I also want to talk about people who are afraid to minister to others because they, "might mess up." I know people who won't write Christian music because they, "might mess up and lead others astray." Let me give you my opinion: If you're worried about messing up, then you are the type of person that we need in ministry! I'll tell you why, because you'll seek God before you teach something. Also, because if you make a mistake you'll correct it. Also, because you'll be less likely to make a mistake because you respect the Word of God! I make mistakes, but thankfully when people (Or God Himself,) point them out, I am not too proud to accept correction and to correct my mistake. We need people in ministry who are not going to say, "Oh well, I won't correct it because I want to look good!" We need people who will uphold the integrity of God's Word over their own integrity. I love to meet people who care about how they teach the Word, people who might be worried about "messing up." Because I'll think to myself, "This person is like me, they don't want to mess it up... I can trust this person." In other words, I trust people who want to do things right! It's hard for me to trust people, especially concerning spiritual things. I do not want to be deceived, but that is also my responsibility. I must study the Word of God enough and stay in prayer in order NOT to be deceived. Well, anyway I just wanted to say: Don't let the fear of messing up stop you from ministering to others. You'll do great as long as you go with Jesus!

Again, I apologize that there was no devotion yesterday. My head just wasn't in it.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to teach your Word properly and not our own understanding. Also, help us to apply your Word to our lives. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
