FEAR NOTHING, BUT GOD!
Friday's Devotion (3-2-07)
"The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell." Psalm 27:1-2 (KJV)
If you're afraid of someone, something, or anything... I want you to meditate on these two scriptures. You will find peace when you find that the most powerful force in all of the universe IS and ALWAYS will be YOUR PROTECTOR! Nothing will bring you harm, because in order for true harm to be brought your way, whatever it is would have to get past the Lord first. That just isn't going to happen.
Let's bottom line this: Fear is the lack of faith. If you're afraid, then you're not trusting Jesus. My uncle Thomas, used to like that phrase, "Fear nothing, but fear itself." We're going to change that phrase today, because we're not even going to fear because there is a more powerful force and that force is our protector! FEAR NOTHING, BUT GOD! Fear nothing, except that which can kill your body and soul in Hell (God!) The beauty about this fear of God, is that all it means is respect Him, and obey Him out of that respect and love. No longer must you be tortured by that evil kind of fear, the kind of fear that makes you want to stay in bed in the morning. You are free from that, that is if you will trust the Lord. Through and through, the Lord has saved you and set you free from all the garbage of this world.
Remember, the only way to get rid of that fear is to have the Holy Ghost inside of us. He will guide us, comfort us, and even protect us among so many other things. If you haven't yet, get baptized, ask for the Holy Ghost and let Him guide you from here on out. You'll never regret it, that's for sure!
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us not to fear anything, but to be lead by you, and let us have faith in your protection over us. May our faith grow stronger than ever. Comfort those of us that have fearful hearts. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless
