Our Friend

Monday's Devotion (2-26-07)

"Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you." John 15:15 (KJV)

Sorry about the hiatus from the daily devotion, I thought I had sun poisoning, but I guess it's the flu... AGAIN!! I had a fever of about 102-103. But hey, the Lord takes care of His friends, which brings me to today's message:

Jesus has called us, "friends." We are not His slaves, we are His friends. That means that we have a RELATIONSHIP with Christ. If we were just servants, there would be no relationship. It would just be: "Do this, do that, don't do that." That's not the case. We have a friendship with Jesus that allows us to ask Him for favors. Just like a real friendship He does things for us, and we do things for Him. Not because we have to, but because we love each other and we want to do these things.

Jesus is to be our best friend, let me ask you something: When you have a problem, don't you talk with your best friend about that problem? Some of us are so afraid to present our problems to the Lord, but we forget that HE IS OUR BEST FRIEND, and it's alright to bring our problems to Him. As a matter of fact, it's not alright not to bring our problems to Him. Of course we should also talk to our best friend every day, even if there are no problems. We share the good and the bad with our friend, Jesus Christ.

Well, on another note I talked with Anthony (My producer,) today. They took some of my other lyrics and put them to the "Carry Our Cross" melody, and made the song longer for radio. We did this because "Carry Our Cross," was just a wrestling song... So, now we can do a lot more with it, and it'll be called, "Soldier For Christ." I think it turned out amazing, but it's not complete just yet. When it is and when I get it, I'll be sure to share with you all. I'm excited though, Derek Otey the singer sounds GREAT with what He did in my opinion. It's way better than "Carry Our Cross."

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to confidently call you our friend, and let us confide and trust in you. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
