God's Temple Being Demolished?
Tuesday's Devotion (2-20-07)
"Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are." 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 (KJV)
Your body is no longer your own, but it is the temple of God. If you destroy your body, you destroy the temple of God, you destroy His home. So, my question is: Who wants to tell God, "I decided to demolish your home?" If someone destroyed my home, there will be A LOT of trouble... Imagine how God feels about His home.
There are several ways to destroy your body/God's temple: Drugs, adultery, self-mutilation, and the list goes on. If you want to be right with the Lord, don't think for a minute that it's "Your body and you'll do what you want with it." You must respect the Holy Spirit, and to respect the Spirit you must also respect your body/His dwelling place. We must not forget that we are the janitor's of God's home... We must keep it up, and what an honor it is to be a mere janitor of the Lord's house.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us not to defile the temple of God, let us honor you with all that we have. In Jesus name. A-men!
