The Lord Awaits Your Return
Saturday's Devotion (2-17-07)
"I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him." Hosea 14:4 (KJV)
Some have this silly belief that once you "fall away," from the Lord... You can never be saved again. The truth is that if you can and are willing to call upon the name of the Lord, you can be saved! I have never "backslidden," and I hope that I never do, but Krista has (Before I met her.) When we met, it was kind of odd, but we brought each other to the Lord. I believe that if she could never be saved again, that she wouldn't of been used so mightily, and that she would've never came back to the Lord.
The bottom line is that the Lord can heal your backsliding, and by healing it that simply means that He'll bring you back to Him. But this verse here is referring to the backslidden Israel. But don't let anyone ever tell you that just because you've fallen away before that you can't ever come back. The Lord awaits your return with open arms.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Don't let us backslide, but for those of us who have already... Bring us back, heal our backsliding. In Jesus name. A-men!
