Jesus Christ (The Real Edifier)
Monday's Devotion (2-12-07)
"Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." 1 Peter 5:6-7 (KJV)
If you have any problems big or small, don't let pride stop you from calling upon the name of the Lord. I think we have all failed in this area at one time or another, it's so easy to say, "I can handle this on my own." We should always pray first, and then attempt to solve the problem. It will go much easier that way. There is nothing wrong with calling on the Lord in all situations.
If we're prideful, the Lord will humble us. I've said it before, and I'll say it again: It's better to be humble than to make the Lord humble you Himself! You don't want the Lord to do it, but at the same time if that's really what it takes for you to be humbled then be thankful when the Lord humbles you. On the other hand, if you are humble the Lord will exalt you. That's something you want Him to do! When the Lord exalts you, He really exalts you! He'll lift you higher than you could ever imagine. I took the screen name Edifier with several of my accounts, and the real Edifier is Jesus Christ. He will build you up, He will strengthen and exalt you. BUT you have to let Him, you have to be humble.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Please help us to be humble in your sight, don't let us be prideful. Help us to make the right choices, choices that please you first. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless
