Wednesday's Devotion (2-7-07)

"But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be." Matthew 24:20-21 (KJV)

This is something that I pray about daily, and I hope that all of you will as well. This is a very important prayer, and it doesn't seem that it is talked about enough. These verses tell me that when Jesus returns to take us home, that if He comes on a day of winter or Sabbath... Those left behind will have it even tougher, actually they'll have it worse than anyone ever did. It is our responsibility to think about those left behind: Our unsaved family members, friends, enemies and strangers. Do you want it to be any tougher on them than it already will be?

Think about the consequences for a moment. If our "day of flight," were to be on a winter or Sabbath day... How might that effect those left behind? Would it draw them to God or further away from Him? I'm thinking further away, because it might make them look for "an easy way out." Perhaps they would seek the "Mark of the beast," in order to save some pain. But we know that it won't save any pain, it will only bring more and bring it for eternity. I would like to hear your opinions, but anyway... we have to be united, and we can't neglect praying over this issue. Let's hope for their sake that when Jesus Christ Airlines come for us it will not be on a day of winter or Sabbath.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. We ask that our flight would not be on a day of winter or Sabbath, show us your tender mercy and kindness. Give us peace and draw us closer to you. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
