Tuesday's Devotion (2-6-07)
"Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." Psalm 119:165 (KJV)
It's easy to say, "I love the law of the Lord." Those are just words, but if you truly love the law of the Lord... Then you try to the best of your ability to obey that law. You can't love the law and be against it, and guess what else? If you're against the law, then you're against the Lord and if you're against the Lord, then you don't love Him either.
If you're looking for peace (And I'm sure we all are,) then you have to love the Lord and a big part of that is to love His law. This all goes back to my favorite devotion line... Study your Bibles, because that's how you know the Lord and that's how you know His law. You can't truly love God if you don't know Him. If you've never ever been outside, if you've never felt the wind... How can you love the wind? The only way to know God is through the Bible, the only way to know His law is through the Bible. If anyone tells me that they love the law of the Lord, but they've never even read the Bible, then I'm not going to believe them. I'm interested in seeing if anyone can convince me otherwise.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to know you, and your law and to love you and your law. Help us to obey you. In Jesus name. A-men!
