As Unto The Lord

Thursday's Devotion (2-1-07)

"And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Matthew 25:40 (KJV)

I love this verse because it just reminds me that whatever I do or don't do to/for others, then I'm also doing or not doing that thing to the Lord - Whether it be good or bad. When you give to the needy, you're also giving to the Lord. When you let the needy go hungry, then you're letting the Lord go hungry as well. We have to live our lives unto the Lord, everything we do or don't do as unto the Lord.

If we're not living as unto the Lord, if we're not doing the things we're supposed to do... We're not going to end up where we need to be. I've heard people say, "My salvation is not based on what I do or don't do. It is by faith in Jesus Christ." That's true, but the Bible says faith without works is dead, and not to mention if you read Matthew chapter 25 in entirety, you'll see what happens to those who didn't do good works. It's not about the works, but if you plant a seed you kind of expect some fruit to grow. If Jesus is planted in your heart, then that fruit should grow to the outside and be there for all to see.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to live as unto you, help us to be pleasing children. And let your light shine through us. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
