Touched By God
Saturday's Devotion (1-27-07)
"The LORD hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad." Psalm 126:3 (KJV)
The question I've been getting lately, and can't answer as well as I'd like to is, "Why do you or how do you believe in God?" I'm going to lay out my answer right here, my answer is Psalm 126:3. The things that God has done for me are undeniable, and unexplainable. You ever come home and look in your fridge and notice that someone has touched/rearranged your food? They ate some of it or something... Well, someone touched my life. That someone is God, that someone is Jesus Christ. Have you ever asked your doctor for a cure, and no matter what he/she gave you, it didn't cure your sickness? Well, I have asked Jesus for cures and then I have received those cures (Without any medication.) I have seen people healed, and I have seen lives touched by the hand of God. I'll tell you this: If I told you anything else, then I'd be a fool. Why do I believe? Well, if you haven't seen my answer yet... Then you might never see it.
The bottom-line is that if your mind isn't open to it, then no matter what I tell you none of it will make a difference. Your spiritual eyes have to be open to it. The veil is still over many eyes, but until God Himself removes that veil from your eyes you will not see His mighty hand at work. You can laugh at me, you can deny everything that I say- But I'm betting that if you look deep inside of yourself, you'll know that there is a God in Heaven. Stop denying it, and start accepting it before it's too late. Once the hand of God touches you, you'll never be able to deny His existence with a straight face again. Since God's hand touched me for the first time, I have never been the same and I pray that I'll never be the same again. Open your mind, open your heart, and let God touch you. You won't be sorry that you did.
I am sad for my family that has yet to do so, because I know that they're not as happy as they could be. They're not complete, and I want them to have what I have. I wish that everyone could have it, because it makes life worth living. Without Jesus what is life? A contest to see how much money you can make and spend before you die? A popularity contest to see how famous you can be? I'm sorry, but none of this sounds too thrilling to me. It sounds empty to me, doesn't sound fun at all. I'll tell you one of many things that was thrilling for me. I still can't get over when I first got saved... I used to scam checks from companies by complaining about their products. Well, the last time that I did it I received the check in the mail sometime after I was born again. I ripped the check and flushed it down the toilet. It was a testament of how fast God can change a person. We're talking about maybe a two week period from when I scammed the check to when I received the check. How awesome is that? Think I could've changed that much on my own? For some reason, I don't think so! I mean I didn't rip that check against my own will either. I wanted to rip that check, I was truly changed. It wasn't like, "Oh I can't do this anymore..." It was more like, "I don't want to do this anymore!" I know it might not seem like much to you, but that was a big turning point in my life. I hope that you all get to have similar and greater turning points through Christ Jesus.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Continue to change us into your glorious image, and for those of us who have yet to find you... We pray that they would find you, and come to know you and bring much glory to you. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless
