IS NOT IF!

Saturday's Devotion (1-13-07)

"Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away." Matthew 5:42 (KJV)

Have you ever found yourself giving excuses on why you didn't give to someone in need? Why you didn't give to someone who asked something of you? I have. The excuses are endless, "They probably just wanted the money for beer," or "They were just going to waste it on garbage anyway." After that we ask ourselves, "Why doesn't God give me more finances to deal with?" Probably because we would just waste it on garbage! If we don't help people, if we don't show love with our finances then what good does it do God to give us more? The same thing that we judge the borrowers of we are guilty of! We waste our finances, and that's why we don't have more!

We talk about taking steps of faith, well a big step of faith is to help people that need help even though you need help! What you're saying to God when you do that is, "Hey, I'm not worried. I know that you'll come through for me, like you did for this person that I'm helping." God does come through in big ways too! I'm telling you all that God is going to do big things with my music this year, I can feel it in my bones! I'm claiming that, and declaring it because I truly believe it. I think another good thing to do is not just take the step of faith, but also believe that you're going to get the result that you're looking for. When people tell me, "Your music might not get that big, it's a tough road..." I say, "No, God has His hand on it and it's going to get big!" My desire is to be used to bless many people, and that's why I feel that God will bless me financially too... So, I in return can do more. But until I have more, I still need to give of what I do have. What I want everyone to do is to post a declaration. What is God going to do for you? After you do that, I want you to take a step of faith. Whatever that step might be. If you're going to post a bunch of "ifs," then don't bother. I don't want to hear, "If it's God's will," let's hear some faith! Let's hear, "God IS going to do this for me." Let's hear IS not IF!

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to trust in you, and help us to be givers and cheerful givers at that. Don't let us be selfish and don't let us make excuses, because we know in our heart that there is no excuse not to help a fellow brother or sister. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
