Temptation
Friday's Devotion (1-12-07)
"My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not." Proverbs 1:10 (KJV)
Have you ever noticed that when you're weak in a certain area, someone comes along and tempts you in that area? If you're an ex-drug addict, someone comes and tries to turn you back onto drugs. If you're trying to lose weight, someone offers chocolate cake. All we can do is be strong, resist the temptation. Resist people that "entice," you. Basically, if they are in the way of your walk with Jesus then simply do not have them in your life!
But it all comes down to one thing: You need strength from Jesus to over come. Even if you do cut certain people out of your life, other people will come along... And if you are weak, then you will give in to those people. Pray for strength, and study God's Word. Whatever you do, do not give into weakness. Do not give into temptation... Otherwise you will become a slave to it. Christians often give into weakness and then blame their friends or family who enticed them. Yeah, that's part of the problem, but the biggest part of the problem is that THEY are weak! If we're strong enough, we will resist evil. Well, there's really not much more to say. Sorry the devotion was up kind of late today, was too tired to do it when I usually do it at night last night.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us not to be enticed by the people of this world. Let us be strong enough to over come temptation, through the blood of the Lamb. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless
