All My Tears
Thursday's Devotion (1-11-07)
"And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you." John 16:22 (KJV)
I'm listening to "All My Tears," by Jars of Clay. This song is a great reminder of why we should not fear death. "It don't matter where you bury me, I'll be home and I'll be free..." are some of the words to the song. I think that we all worry too much about death, we even worry about where we'll be buried. My brother told my mom that he wanted to go home sometime before he died in the hospital. Well, we had a cemetery across the street from our trailer park... She had him buried there. That was the closest he'll ever get to his earthly home again, but it doesn't matter because now he is home! He is home with the Lord. His spiritual and true home is with Jesus, as is ours (All those walking in the Spirit.)
While it's hard not to cry when we lose a loved one in Jesus, we have to remember that all their pain is gone. All their sorrow is gone, and their joy no man can take away. They're rejoicing and no man can take their joy. Living on earth I don't think we comprehend some things like this. How can no man take our joy? They sure find ways to steal our joy on earth! But when you're with the Lord, no man will take your joy away! On earth we get a little taste of the peace and joy of the Lord, but when we are with Him... It's going to be so amazing. We cry for those in the Lord that we've lost, but perhaps we are the ones we should be crying for, ha-ha. We all fear death so much, it's really silly. We fear seeing and being with the Lord, we fear eternal joy. Well, fear no more friends! Walk in faith and trust in the Lord, and if it should be your time to go home... We'll miss you (If we're still here,) but we'll be happy for you. It's great to be walking with the Lord, because that way all we have to fear IS the LORD!
Sorry for the hiatus with the devotion. We got to visit with my brother in law, it was nice. With him living in Florida now, we never get to see him. Those of you that know me, know that he's like a brother to me now... Should be after living with him for 4 years until he moved. Pray for him though, he asked for a Bible to take home with him. That's a great sign! :)
The other thing that I found out was awesome too... My producer/promoter had a meeting with a big studio owner out in Texas. The studio has agreed to put my music on file, which means that when artists come in and they need extra music for their CD... My music will be recommended! Pray over that too, because I really have my heart set on getting my music to the masses.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to trust in you, and help us to have peace and joy always. Don't let us worry about losing our life on this earth. In Jesus name. A-men!
God bless
