It's True!

Friday's Devotion (1-5-07)

"Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14 (KJV)

You know that I ran into a person who questioned that Mary was really a virgin? They kind of laughed me to scorn, but you know what? Say what you will, laugh at me if you will, but I believe that Jesus was born of a VIRGIN! I believe that through God, and ONLY through God and the Holy Spirit it was possible and it did happen. I guess in today's perverse generation it can be hard to believe such a thing. It's almost impossible to find a person who doesn't have sex on their mind 24/7. I say that because it seems that is what EVERYONE is talking about, except other believers. I guess that is just one more thing that separates us from the world.

If you don't believe that Mary was born of a virgin, do a little research. This verse is from Isaiah, long before Jesus/Immanuel was born. What is it like hundreds of years prior? Perhaps over a thousand, I really do not know... All I know is that it was generations before His birth. For this prophecy to be fulfilled so much later, that has to mean something to you. Not only this prophecy, but it was prophesied that He would also be the savior of the world. If you question my faith, then I want an answer to this question: How can it be, what are the odds of one man fulfilling both prophecies (among other prophecies,) generations later? Also, you can't question that Jesus was here, because that's WELL documented. So, to all other believers out there - Glory in the Lord! Let the world laugh, because you know as well as I do there is no truth in their claims. Our faith is true, have peace in knowing that.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for this message and for all things. Please forgive us of all our sins as we forgive all those who've wronged us. Help us to keep our faith, and to be able to defend our faith when need be. Help us to know your Word well, and help us to believe all of it without doubts. In Jesus name. A-men!

God bless
